Game Designer / Lead Level Designer

DESCRIPTION

Crit Out! is a cyberpunk TV show featuring deadly hoverbike battles. The goal is simple: defeat the other players by knocking them into obstacles or off the road. But do not fall too far behind, or you will die too. Anyone who leaves the centre of the TV frame is eliminated!

GAME OVERVIEW

​CONTRIBUTION

  • Level Design: Independently handled the full level design process, from blockout creation to final level implementation.

  • Gameplay Design: Fully responsible for all level-related gameplay elements. Also worked closely with a co-designer on overall gameplay design, pitching and iterating on new mechanics and features while ensuring the scope remained feasible for artists and programmers.

  • UX Design: Refined core game feel through iterative tuning of gameplay variables, improving responsiveness and overall player experience together with my co-designer.

  • Game Design: Maintained the game design document, asset breakdown, and Trello board throughout the project in collaboration with a co-designer, ensuring clear structure and up-to-date project tracking.

  • Quality Assurance: Conducted playtesting and collaborated with programmers to identify and fix bugs, improving stability and polish with my co-designer.

  • UI/HUD: Designed the user interface and heads-up display together with my co-designer.
